While in NC, Andy began his training with MAMA (Mountain Area Medical Airlift). The boys and I roamed around our new area and tried to find ways to stay busy on cold winter days. We were blessed to fall in love with the first church we attended. After a few weeks of training and a check ride in NY Andy was set free as an official MAMA pilot. We were in NC for about five weeks until we had to return to Savannah.
For most of February we were in GA to say final goodbyes to friends, pack our belongings, and for Andy to out process. As of March 3rd Andy is once again a civilian. It has been a bittersweet time...we are closing a large chapter of our life but beginning a new and exciting one. Life in the Army presented us with many challenges but also many opportunities to grow and be blessed. We look forward to all that the Lord has for us in this new phase of life!
Yes, we are still alive and I have not forgotten the blog. Life has been busy to say the least! In early January we found out that Andy had to report to his new job in North Carolina immediately. We packed about a tenth of our belongings and moved in 4 days time. The Army had not officially set us free so we knew we would be returning to Savannah at some point...March?, May?, July?....whenever the paperwork rodeo was complete.
